Question 2 specifically prevents dental insurance premium increases above the consumer price index without approval by state regulators, contrary to deceptive claims in ads paid for by the big insurance companies. Question 2 requires Massachusetts state regulators to block premium increases deemed to be excessive or unreasonable, and would require dental insurance companies to spend more of patient premiums on dental care – instead of lining their own pockets.

“Hygienist Amanda”

Amanda Berthiaume, President of the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists’ Association, endorses a YES vote on Question 2. Hygienists and other dental team members support Question 2 because it will dedicate more of patients’ insurance premiums to pay for their dental care, instead of to insurance companies.  Despite misleading ads paid for by the big insurance companies, Question 2 means more money for patient dental care and less money for insurance executives.
